Re-Use

Re-Use

A Second life for wastewater

Only 2% of wastewater collected in the world is currently re-used.

Wastewater re-use is an alternative means of saving water, an increasingly coveted resource.

Developed by both Degrémont and CIRSEE,
the “Re-Use” product line, implementing efficient technical and practical innovations such as ultraviolet, reverse osmosis and even membrane filtration techniques. By means of a total or partial treatment process, the “Re-Use” product line returns the quality of the water to the level it was in before it was used. The treated water can then be used for non-domestic purposes: agricultural irrigation, cleaning urban areas or watering lawns and green spaces.
In 2006, Degrémont built and operated the largest wastewater re-use plant in Europe, at San Rocco, Italy. With a capacity of more than 1 million equivalent inhabitants, this plant recycles treated and disinfected wastewater for the irrigation of highadded-value market garden crops.
